MENOMINEE — The Menominee 7th grade Hornets football team played two games against Appleton West and Oshkosh North recently and won both by scores of 27-0 and 29-12.

Against Appleton West, Trevor Theuerkauf ran for 67 yards and a touchdown while throwing for 49 yards and a 2-point conversion. He also had an interception from his safety position.

Landan Bardowski ran for a team-high 184 yards and three scores while racking up eight tackles on defense. Bardowski added to his total yards by completing one pass for 43 yards. 

Gable Buck hauled in three passes for 68 yards including the 2-point conversion from Theuerkauf. 

Defensively, Tyler Smith had three tackles and a forced fumble, Ian Johnson got into the backfield for two sacks and Ethan Mundloch lead the team with 9.5 tackles. 

Luke Thoune received the leadership award while Jeremy Salmi and Jack Jackson received the “Unsung Hornet” award.

Against Oshkosh North, Bardowski again led the team in rushing with 132 yards and three touchdowns. Theuerkauf passed for 82 yards and rushed for 79 including two 2-point conversions.

Jackson ran for an 11-yard touchdown and had five tackles on defense. Gable Buck sacked the quarterback for a 13-yard loss resulting in a safety and McMillan had four sacks. 

Ethan Primley and Thoune had three and five pancake blocks, respectively. 

Theuerkauf was awarded the leadership award, while Aiden Garcia received the “Unsung Hornet” award for his seven tackles from the cornerback position.
