Menominee Youth Wrestling to hold registration meeting

MENOMINEE — Menominee Youth Wrestling will hold a registration and parents' meeting Jan. 16.

The meeting will address an 11-week program for wrestlers from first to fifth grade. 

It will be held at the DAR Boys and Girls Club at 901 8th Ave. in Menominee. Demostrations and detailed explanations will be included.

There will also be sign-ups Jan. 18, which will also be the first day of practice. Practices will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. 

All grades will practice from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and no special equipment is required.

Knights of Columbus putting on free-throw contest

MARINETTE — The Knights of Columbus will hold a free-throw contest Jan. 14.

The contest is open to all girls and boys of the community between 9 and 14 years old. 

It will be held at the St. Thomas Aquinas gym, and doors will open at noon, with competition starting at 1 p.m.

Proof of age is required, and trophies will be awarded to first and second place. Winners will move on to the next level.
