Burmeister leads NMU runners

MARQUETTE, Mich. — Menominee High School graduate Kameron Burmeister led Northern Michigan University to second-place finish at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference meet Saturday.

Burmeister finished fifth overall in the six-kilometer race with a time of 21:54.2.

She earned first team All-GLIAC honors for the finish, and the senior has been first team All-GLIAC all four years of her career with the Wildcats.

Northern Michigan will run at the NCAA Division II Midwest Region Championships in in Cedarville, Ohio in two weeks.

Maroons to host Hancock

The Menominee football team will host Hancock to begin the postseseason, and Stephenson will welcome Ontonagon in 8-man play.

The Maroons (6-3) earned more playoff points than Hancock (7-2) for the right to host the Division 5 game.

The winner of that game will take on the winner of Gladstone at Kingsford.

Stephenson (7-2) defeated Onotonagon (5-3) 54-16 in week 6.

The winner of that game with take on the winner of Rudyard at Cedarville.
