Modschiedler cards hole-in-one

MARINETTE — Debra Modschiedler aced the 17th hole at Little River Country Club Tuesday.

She used a 6 iron on the 125-yard hole.

Her son, Collin, witnessed the hole-in-one.

Little River to host couples event

MARINETTE — Little River Country Club will host the 37th annual Memorial Couples Event Saturday and Sunday.

The tournament is an alternate shot-scramble. Both players tee off, then the man hits the woman's drive, and the woman hits the man's drive. Beginning with the third shot, they choose one ball and scramble until holed out. The format is the same on all holes, even par 3s.

Flights will be determined after Saturday's round. There will be a 1 p.m. shotgun start Saturday and 9 a.m. shotgun start Sunday.

Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served Saturday and a full meal will be served after Sunday's round.

The entry fee is $135 per team and $50 for a cart for the weekend, and at least 50 percent of the field will receive prize money.

CNWT weigh-in scheduled for Friday

MARINETTE — The weigh-in for the Cabela’s National Walleye Tour championship will be held at 3 p.m. Friday.
The tournament is the final event of the CNWT season and begins today. Anglers will fish Green Bay, taking off from Menekaunee Harbor, where the weigh-in will be held.

Redbirds to hold ‘Buck Night’

The Marinette Redbirds will be playing the Brookside Baseball Club tonight at 7:30 at Pedersen Ball Park in the final game of the season and will be holding its annual “Buck Night”. All drinks and hot dogs will be one dollar, brats and hamburgers for $2 and pop corn is free of charge. Admission is $2.
