MENOMINEE — Dexter’s Spring Shootout men’s basketball tournament will be taking place at the Menominee High School gymnasium starting Saturday.

The tournament runs Saturday from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Admission will be $3 per person with kids 12 and under getting in free. All proceeds will go to the Menominee basketball program. 

A total of 10 teams from the Upper Peninsula and Northeast Wisconsin will be playing in the double elimination tournament.

Some local talent that will be competing are former high school standouts from around the area. Jason Boucher, Brett Beland, Tyler Eland, Sam Larson, Adam Nolde and Marcus McKenny are a few names from Menominee. Ben Kitkowski from Marinette, Jared Benson, Jacob and Mike Polfus from Carney-Nadeau and Steve Schahczenski and Tyler Price from Marinette Catholic Central/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy also are playing in the tournament.
