OCONTO – Three of the Oconto wrestling team’s four competitors scored points in Friday’s Oconto Invitational.

Harrison Cain (138), Troy Wenzel (170) and Garrett Anderson (285) managed one win each in the multi-team event though Tomahawk topped the team standings with 251 points. Shawano (205), Shiocton (199), Mosinee (157) and Crandon (90) completed the top 5.

Cain won his opening-round match by pin in 3 minutes, 40 seconds over Tomahawk’s Ryan Dietrich. He was then defeated by pin in three consecutive matches, but earned six team points for the Blue Devils.

Wenzel lost two matches by pin and another by decision before earning a default win in the consolation bracket. Anderson pinned Crandon’s Nick Adamski in one minute to earn his win between a pair of losses by pin.

Cameron Stamsta (132) was forced to withdraw from his final three matches due to an injury in his opening match.
