BROWN DEER, Wis. — Three members of the M&M Stingrays competed at the USA 12-Under WI SCY State Championship this past weekend.

Bennett Baffer (12), Sadie Betzinger (10) and Mason Flowers (10) represented the Stingrays against a field of nearly 500 swimmers.

Betzinger kicked things off by shaving three minutes and 48 seconds off her time in the 100 backstroke (1:16.55), good for 18th place. Betzinger then trimmed 1:96 off her time in the 100 fly (1:15.74) to take home a podium-finish of seventh place. Betzinger, with over 100 fellow swimmers in her age group, also finished 12th in the 50 backstroke (41.15) and 15th in the 50 fly (34.29).

Baffer knocked 6:60 off her time in the 100 breaststroke (1:26.19) to take home 71st place while Flowers’ best finish came in the 100 Individual Medley, which he swam in 1:31.75 to bring home 30th place.

Stingrays coach Lenny Sipple said that Flowers swam very well at this meet, and that all three swimmers did a fantastic job.
