COLEMAN — The Coleman wrestling team was barely slowed in a win over Escanaba on Thursday.

The Cougars surrendered only two divisions, both by forfeit, in a 66-12 rout at home, giving them three team wins in as many days. Seven wrestlers won by pin for Coleman, including four that required less than a minute of mat time.

Kasey Casper had the night’s quickest match, pinning Brock Viali in just 28 seconds to win the 120-division match. Jonathon Bieber (195) defeated Scott Pendergraft in 46 seconds; Koltin Grzybowski (113) defeated Collin Arnt in 49 seconds and Jake Baldwin (152) defeated Noah Weaver in 52 seconds.

Tyler Blanchard (170) needed just over a minute to defeat Bailey Papineau, winning in 1:09. Caleb Gross (132) pinned Tyler Lawson in 3:03 and Jakob Horton (145) defeated Ryan VanEffen in 4:21.

Karson Casper (138) won a 6-0 decision over Hunter Larson in a 6-0 decision; Bryce Karban (160) won a major decision over and Shamus McLain (182) won by technical fall over Spencer Brunelle.

The Cougars added two wins on Tuesday at Wittenberg-Birnamwood. They won a 55-21 decision over Bonduel with six wrestlers winning by pin. Grzybowski (113) won in 40 seconds; Bryce Karban (160) won in 1:20; Karson Casper (138) won in 1:25; Baldwin (152) won in 1:43; Blanchard (170) won in 1:59 and Horton (145) won in 3:37.

Coleman’s matchup with the event host was won even more decisively by the Cougars. They won each division from 126-220 for a 62-15 team win. Five wrestlers won by pin for Coleman, with Bieber (220) notching the quickest with a 29-second win. Blanchard (170) won in 1:04; Karban (160) won in 1:11; Grzybowski (113) won in 1:41 and Gross (132) won in 2:41.
