FLAT ROCK, Mich. — The Menominee boys cross country team took home a 3rd-place finish at the Great Northern Conference meet on Thursday at Beauchamp's Grove. 

Hunter Shepeck turned in a time of 17 minutes, 48 seconds for a fourth-place finish to lead the Menominee boys. Landen Clausen took 14th (18:47.1) and was followed closely by Braeden Park in 17th (19:35.3). 

Nick Sandahl ran a personal best time of 19 minutes, 58 seconds, good for 19th and Adam Sandahl finished four seconds behind him in 20th (20:02.2) to round out the scoring for the boys. 

Evan Casey came in 28th (20:57.1) and Jason Bowers finished 30th (22:01.9). 

"The boys are peaking at the right time and should be ready to do well at the U.P. Finals next Saturday," Menominee coach Eric Burmeister said.

Adam Bruce of Gladstone came in first with a time of 16 minutes, 53 seconds and his teammate Jake Strasler followed him in second (17:42.7). 

Marquette's Mathurin Gagnon finished in third (17:45.9) and Peyton Osborne, also of Marquette, came in fifth (18:02.2) to round out the top-5.

Marquette placed four runners in the top-10 to win the meet with a score of 33 and Gladstone followed with a 41. Menominee totaled 71 points for third.
