MARINETTE — The Marinette High School powerlifting club is sending five lifters to the WHSPA state finals this weekend at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center in Appleton.

Senior Riley Renne will kick things off for the Marines on Saturday by attempting to qualify for the national finals in the 114-pound weight class.

Senior Bryan McClurg and juniors Marissa Loomis and Cameron Anderson are making their second appearances at state. McClurg (275) and Loomis (242) will each attempt to qualify for nationals while Anderson will also be competing in the 275 pound weight class.

Freshman Gordon Langer rounds out the five Marinette lifters and he will be competing in the SHWT weight class.

Finals begin today at 9 a.m.
