WEST BEND, Wis. — The M&M Bantam hockey team extended its win streak to six games with a pair of wins on Sunday.

The Thunder played at Washington County and allowed just one total goal in 6-1 and 4-0 road victories.

Ethan Pullen scored a hat trick for the Thunder in the 6-1 win. Joey Danielak had a goal and two assists; Mason Denny had a shorthanded goal while Charlie Zimmer had a goal and an assist. Chad Kenney, Theron Thayer and Cole Dewitt had an assist each.

Zimmer, Pullen, Zach Wescott and Kennison Boivin had one goal each in M&M’s second win. Danielak had two assists; Wescott and Mason Boivin had one assist each.


■ The M&M squirt team split a pair of games in Marquette on Saturday.

Logan Sakovitz and Braedyn Bender scored goals for the Thunder in their 5-2 loss in the opener. Collin Campbell assisted on both goals and Conner Radtke made 22 saves.

The Thunder recovered for a 6-5 win in the second game. Wyatt Denny had a hat trick, scoring three goals in the third period and he assisted on Connor Annala’s first goal. Annala had two goals and an assist; Bryce Vincent had one goal for the Thunder.

Radtke made 24 saves for M&M.


■ Multiple area wrestlers earned 1st-place finishes in Sunday’s Ashwaubenon Youth Wrestling tournament.

Wrestlers from Marinette, Crivitz and Gillett-Suring won their given division on the day while De Pere topped the team standings with 148 points.

Everett Zeitler (8-9, 63-69) and Steven Van Den Elzen (10-11, 80-82) earned 1st-place finishes for Gillett-Suring. Both won all four of their matches and had one win by pin each.

Wyatt Liebman (10-11, 68-73) won his division for Marinette, claiming matches by decision, forfeit and by pin in 2 minute, 52 seconds in the final round. Jaxon Smith (12-13, 131-135) had a 2nd-place finish.

Aiden Flynn (10-11, 82-83) won all four of his matches by pin to claim first for Crivitz. Three of his pins were in under a minute, including a 40-second win over Trevin Veeser (Southern Door).

Austin Wendt (8-9, 59-62) and Brady Gross (14-15, 90-100) had 2nd-place finishes for Coleman, as did Collin Van Ark (10-11, 93-106) and Sam Marquardt (14-15, 112-118) for Lena.


■ A second-half comeback fell short for the Marinette boys JV1 basketball team on Wednesday.

The Marines trailed by 18 points at halftime and came within striking distance in the second half, but ended with a 45-40 loss at Little Chute.

Matt Maye led the Marines with 13 points in the game and 12 of those were in Marinette’s 40-point second half. Asaia Polazzo and Dylan Poquette had seven points each for the Marines.

■ The Marinette boys JV2 team scored just 11 points in the first half of a 44-32 loss to Little Chute on Wednesday.

Carson Erdman led the Marines with six points; Matt Twork and Braeden Bizzelle had five points each.
