MENOMINEE — The Menominee boys track team competed against Escanaba in a dual meet on Tuesday, with the Eskymos edging the Maroons 70-63.

Menominee totaled eight first-place finishes and Mason Boivin led the way with two as he swept both of the hurdle events. He finished the 100 in 19.17 seconds and the 300 in 48.14.

The 400-meter relay team of Caden Bigger, John Boucher, Dylan Oudeans and Bryce Parrette took first with a time of 48.60 and the same crew teamed up to win the 800 relay (1:41.81). In the 3,200-meter relay, Cameron Buscher, Landen Clausen, Hunter Shepeck and Adam Sandahl won with a time of 9:27.08.

Nick Sandahl beat out teammate Evan Casey to win the 1,600-meter run (5:30.45); Oudeans won the shot put with a throw of 42 feet, 7 inches and Casey won the 3,200-meter run (12:21.62).

Boucher and Keegan Retlick finished second and third in the 100-meter dash; Connor Salewski was third in the discus; Shepeck came in second in the high jump; Shawn Sandahl took third in the shot put; Buscher and Dawson Allgeyer were second and third in the 400-meter dash; Adam Sandahl was second in the 800 and Retlick took second in the 200-meter dash.

The Maroons will be back in action today when the team hosts the Great Northern Conference finals meet starting at 2:30 p.m.
