MARATHON, Wis. — Crivitz, Suring and Gillett were well-represented at the Division 3 sectional track and field meet in Marathon on Thursday.

The Wolverines had four individuals and a relay team place qualify for state, the Tigers also had four and Mitch Stegeman will represent Suring at state next week.

Stegeman earned a first-place finish in the pole vault, clearing 13-feet-6-inches. Tony Jopek of Crivitz earned a third-place finish in the pole and will be heading to state.

Ezekial Lawrence took second place in both the 110 and 300 meter hurdles and helped team up with Jaden Bemis, Jopek and Kody Richlen on a fourth-place finish in the 800 meter relay. Bemis also took third in the 100 meter dash.

Cece Johnsen, who broke the school record in the discus throw at the Oconto regional on Monday, finished second and will be heading down to state for the Wolverines.

Gillett’s Sylvia Hansen took second in the 1,600 and fourth in the 3,200 to qualify. Aubrey DeBauch won the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 47.48 for Gillett. The Tigers also had a second place finish by Bo Krueger in the discus and a third place by Derek Hanson in the 1,600.
