FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Amanda Majewski (Peshtigo) scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds for Lakeland University in a 74-31 rout over Marian University on Saturday.

The Muskies took an early lead and held it for the remainder of the game. They limited Marian to just seven points in the first quarter and later took a 25-point lead into halftime.

Lakeland continued adding to its lead in the second quarter by outscoring Marian 22-12, but saving its best defensive quarter for last. The Muskies allowed only one make from the floor in the fourth, keeping Marian winless on the season.

Majewski also had five steals and four assists for the Muskies, who improved to 6-2 overall on the season and 3-1 in the North Athletics Collegiate Conference. They go to Chicago this Saturday to face Illinois Institute of Technology.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Marcus McKenney (Menominee) and Bay College were outscored 52-31 in the second half of a 98-70 loss to Milwaukee Area Technical College on Saturday.

McKenney scored eight points and had four assists for the Norse, who matched the Stormers’ 3-point shooting but couldn’t keep pace with points off turnovers. The Stormers forced 36 turnovers and scored 39 points of them; they also converted 22 of their 26 free throw attempts while Bay shot just 50 percent (16-for-32). Both teams were 8-for-25 from 3-point range.

Kobi Barnes had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Norse, who dropped to 8-5 overall on the season. They host UWGB-Marinette on Wednesday.
