CARNEY — The Carney-Nadeau Invitational Men’s Basketball Tournament will be held on the weekend of Jan. 19-20 at the Carney-Nadeau High School gym.

The plan is to have four men’s classes this year — A, B, C & D.

Placement in class A or B will be determined by a first round game. The winner will go to A, which is double elimination, and the loser goes to B, which is single elimination.

Class C & D will also be determined by a first round game with the winner going to C and the loser going to D. Both of the classes are then single elimination.

The winning team in each class will be awarded a first place trophy and 10 individual awards (t-shirts). Second place receives a team trophy. There will also be an MVP in each class.

All MHSAA rules apply except for: there is a five minute halftime; 25-point mercy rule with four minutes left; 20-minute games with running clock except last two minutes of first half and last three of second half.

The entry fee is $100 and should be sent, with roster, to Paul Polfus, Box 55, Carney, MI, 49812. Call in registrations can also be made by calling 906-639-2866. Entry deadline is Sunday, Jan. 12.
