Travis Buelteman, Stephenson Volunteer Fire Department, sprays down hot embers as Bart Tickler, DDT Construction, stirs up the hot coals with a backhoe after fire restarted Wednesday in Daggett. Firefighters from Daggett, Stephenson and Nadeau had a long night, Tuesday fighting the fire. Daggett Township Volunteer Fire Department was called to the scene at approximately 10:20 p.m. and requested mutual aid from Stephenson and Nadeau Fire Departments shortly after. The fire burned for several hours, until the three departments cleared the scene at 4 a.m. Wednesday. However, the house rekindled later the same morning and Daggett and Stephenson were dispatched to the same residence again at 9:30 a.m. The house was a total loss.
