PESHTIGO — The Peshtigo School Board Wednesday adopted a resolution in support of comprehensive clean water legislation.

As stated in the opening paragraph of the resolution, “we are troubled and concerned by the contamination of our water sources by perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl subsantance (PFAS) and the lack of legislation that protects our students’, families’, and community’s water. The resolutions clearly states that clean water is a nonpartisan issue and that “our legislative leaders at the state and federal level have the ability and responsibility to act on behalf of our children.”

The resolution will be sent to State Sen. Dave Hansen, D-Green Bay; State Rep. John Nygren, R-Marinette, and Gov. Tony Evers to show support for the CLEAR Act and Nygren’s AB 323 bill.

In another matter, it was announced that incumbent school board members Gary Larsen, Mike Fifarek and Mike Finger are running unopposed.
