MARINETTE — A Marinette man was sentenced to prison for a variety of charges, including threats to a judge, prosecutor or law enforcement officer.

James L. Kopsi, 35, W2958 County Trunk G, was sentenced in Marinette County Circuit Court Branch 2 to a total of eight years in prison, followed by nine years extended supervision.

Kopsi was sentenced for the following felonies: two counts of bail jumping (to run concurrent), strangulation and suffocation; and battery to a judge, prosecutor or law enforcement officer. Several charges were dismissed, but read in for sentencing, including a third bail jumping charge, a second charge of battery to a judge, prosecutor or law enforcement officer, battery, disorderly conduct, disorderly conduct use of a dangerous weapon and failure to comply with officer.
