Free rides offered to polling center

MENOMINEE — GCC, a group of nonpartisan concerned citizens, is offering free rides to the polling center at Menominee High School for citizens who need transportation to the polls on Tuesday. Rides to the polls begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m.

Transportation is also provided this Friday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., to obtain or return an absentee ballot, and or vote at Menominee City Hall.

In addition to the general public, transportation will be provided for the following facilities: The Harbor, Hay Creek Apartment, Lloyd I and Lloyd II, Interfaith Manor, Bridgeview Apartments and New Hope Heights.

Residents of those facilities should check with your building manager for assistance.

GCC expects a strong turnout for the election, so volunteer drivers are needed. Drivers must have a driver’s license and proof of insurance. Drivers are scheduled on an hourly basis.

For those who need a ride or can volunteer to drive, call Dick Ross at 906-250-7347 or Arthur Baron 906-290-0902.
