Menominee County Sheriff

■ A deputy responded to a residence in Harris Township at 4:08 p.m. Jan. 2 for a report of an assault that had just occurred. By the time the deputy arrived to the scene, the suspect had left the residence and went to work. A report was compiled and sent to the prosecutor’s office for review. 

■ A deputy was advised to contact a subject in Menominee Township at 3:30 p.m. Jan 4 for a fraud complaint. The caller stated there was a charge on his credit card that he did not make and the credit card company advised him to file a report. A report was completed and the incident was closed.

■ A deputy responded to a two-vehicle traffic crash on County Road 577 at 2:52 p.m. Jan. 7 in Menominee Township. A vehicle driven by Donna Bieber, 49, Wallace, was traveling west on Sobieski Road and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of County Road 577. She struck a vehicle that was traveling on County Road 577, which was driven by Dale Tickler, 69, Wallace. No injuries were reported, but Bieber’s vehicle sustained functioning damage while Tickler’s sustained disabling damage.

■ A deputy responded to a one-vehicle traffic crash on M-35 in Ingallston Township at 1:34 p.m. Jan. 7. A vehicle driven by Donna Ostrenga, 54, Menominee, was traveling south on M-35 when she lost control of her vehicle on the slushy roads. She entered the ditch on the right and struck a culvert, causing damage to her font tire. No injuries were reported but her vehicle sustained disabling damage and needed to be towed.
