¦ Deputies were contacted at 6:27 p.m. Dec. 4 to conduct a welfare check on a man that had gone into his camp in an attempt to plow it out and was   late in returning home. Upon arriving at the scene deputies met with a neighbor that had recently been in contact with the subject and requested medical attention for him because he had fallen outside and had severe cold exposure. The neighbor had assisted the subject inside the camp in an attempt to warm him up. A short time later, the Spalding Township Fire Department arrived with a snow rescue machine and were able to retrieve the subject and get him to an ambulance.

¦ A deputy made a contact with a subject on the side of the road at 1:27 p.m. Dec. 5 after receiving a call about the vehicle. Upon making contact with the driver, Paul Kietzman, 52, Carney, and conducting and investigation he was later arrested for driving while intoxicated and driving while license suspended.

¦ David Anderson, 29, Hermansville, was arrested at 2 p.m. Dec. 5 on a warrant in Delta County. The warrant was for failure to appear to show cause out of 41st Circuit Court of Menominee.

¦ A deputy responded to a one-vehicle traffic crash at 1:42 a.m. Dec. 6 on River Road in Menominee Township. A vehicle driven by Kevin Ortega-Rivera, 23, Menominee, was traveling east on River Road when he swerved to miss a deer. He lost control, when into the ditch and struck a tree.

¦ Deputies responded to a vehicle versus train crash in Spalding Township at 3:38 p.m. Dec. 7. A vehicle driven by Steven Schultz, 56, Powers, was unable to stop for the train crossing on LaBelle Road and slid through the railroad intersection. He sped up enough that the pickup truck he was driving made it across the tracks, but the trailer his vehicle was pulling was struck by the train.

¦ A deputy was contacted in reference to a harassment complaint in Spalding Township at 11:12 a.m. Dec. 7. The caller stated the adjoining property owner parked his vehicle in front of the entrance gate to his property and he wanted to file harassment charges. Contact was made to both parties and the incident was closed.

¦ A deputy responded to a one-vehicle crash on US-2 in Meyer Township at 7:31 a.m. Dec. 9. A vehicle driven by Steven Lippold, 23, Rapid River, Mich., was traveling on U.S. 2 when he lost control of his vehicle just after passing a car, causing him to enter the shoulder portion of the roadway and overturn. Lippold suffered minor injuries that were treated at the scene. His vehicle sustained disabling damage. He was cited for violation of the basic speed law — too fast.
