Museum to close for the summer

MENOMINEE — The West Shore Fishing Museum will be canceling its summer season. The Heritage Crafts Days and the Ice Cream Social have been canceled. The plant sale will still be held Saturday.

Volunteers will use this time to work on renovations and improvements. The Facebook page, West Shore Fishing Museum, will include updates on ongoing projects.

New volunteers are needed to help with gardening, painting, trail development and maintenance, organizing pictures and documents and general maintenance of the boats, buildings and grounds. Work bees are held every Wednesday from 9 a.m. through early afternoon, with workers coming and going on their own schedule.

People may call 715-923-9756 for more information on volunteering or special arrangements.
