Man sentenced for burglary

MARINETTE — A 42-year-old Marinette man will serve a decade in prison for burglary.

Jack Swearingen, 1609 1/2 Main St., was sentenced to 10 years in prison in Marinette County Circuit Court Branch 2 for burglary — commit a battery on a person. The sentence is followed by five years extended supervision.

Charges of threat to injure/accuse of crime and substantial battery/intend bodily harm were dismissed but read in for sentencing. 

The offense happened on Oct. 17, 2019, and Swearingen entered a guilty plea to the burglary charge on April 13.
