Coleman burglar sent to prison

MARINETTE — Dennis J. Klaver, 21, Coleman, was sentenced last week in Marinette County Circuit Court Branch 2 to 18 months in prison for burglary to a building or dwelling.

The sentence is followed by five years extended supervision.

A second similar charge was dismissed but read in for sentencing purposes.

The offense occurred on March 4 of this year. A no contest plea was entered on July 9.

Pound man sentenced to prison

MARINETTE — A Pound man will serve time in prison for false imprisonment.

John G. Giessinger, 53, was sentenced last week in Marinette County Circuit Court Branch 2 to three years in prison, followed by three years extended supervision.

Two felonies and five misdemeanors were dismissed, but read in for sentencing purposes. The felonies are intimidate victim/use or attempt force and strangulation and suffocation. The misdemeanors are two counts of disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property, battery and intimidate victim/dissuade reporting.

The crime occurred on Feb. 15 of this year. Giessinger entered a no contest plea to the false imprisonment charge on Aug. 16.
