Are you bored and annoyed as a result of the restrictions placed on you by the coronavirus pandemic? Do you find yourself restless and fidgety at times because of it?

Well, we have a suggestion for you. How about taking a hike in observance of National Hunger Awareness Day set for June 6. In fact, the Hike for Hunger is going virtual, which gives people of all age groups an opportunity to participate. Participants are asked to go on a walk and practice safe social distancing while snapping photos along the way.

NEWCAP, 1209 Main St., Oconto, is collecting pictures for its website along with donations. Walkers who make a $25 donation, which will feed one hungry person for one week, will receive a medal. Those making a $50 donation, which will feed 2-3 hungry people for one week, will receive a T-shirt. And walkers who pony up a $75 donation, which will feed a family of four for a week, get a T-shirt and a medal.

Participants may turn in their donations, combined with a walker participation form, and forward the form and the donation to NEWCAP, Inc., Attention: Tammy DeJardin, 1201 Main Street, Oconto, WI, 54153.

Following the walk, participants can email their photos to DeJardin tammydejardin@newcap.
