Walter Ralph Ahrens, 76, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019, at home after a short battle with cancer.  
Walter was born on Dec. 17, 1942, to Walter and Helen (Spangenberg) Ahrens in Marinette, Wis.  He graduated from Menominee High School in 1961 and worked at Badger Paper Mills for 39 years until he retired.  He was a lifetime member of First Trinity Lutheran Church of Marinette.
Walter enjoyed camping with family and friends, watching all sports and, especially, following the Peshtigo Bulldogs.
Walter is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia (Aagaard); and three sons: Daniel (Emily), Richard (Lynnette) and Clark.  He is also survived by four grandchildren: Mitchell, Bethany, Benjamin and Abigail Ahrens. He is also survived by two brothers: Eugene (Helen) and Jeff (Toni) Ahrens; and two sisters: Geraldine (Vince) Michalak and Patti (Steve) Bertram.  One brother, Dallas and his wife, Marilyn, preceded him in death.
Walter’s parents preceded him in death.
Family and friends may visit at First Trinity Lutheran Church, 920 Wells St., Marinette, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, June 7 with a church service following immediately afterwards.  The service will be officiated by Pastor Christian Eisenbeis.  Pallbearers are grandsons: Mitchell and Ben Ahrens, and friends: Steve Degeneffe, Tom Grosse, Kevin Pillath and Roy Meier.
