Roberta Jean “Bobbie” Nerat, 77, of Menominee, Mich., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, at home surrounded by her family. Bobbie was born on Dec. 4, 1941, in Daggett, Mich., to the late Corna and Evelyn (Patterson) Sanders.
Bobbie was a 1959 graduate of Stephenson High School. Following high school, Bobbie attended the Milwaukee College of Cosmetology.  On Oct. 24, 1964, Bobbie married Joe Nerat in Milwaukee, Wis. When Bobbie and Joe returned to Menominee, Bobbie worked for Regis in Marinette and later owned and operated Bobbie’s Family Hair Care.  Bobbie was an amazing cook, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and making blankets for her family.  She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching baseball and college basketball. Bobbie loved Coach K and the Duke Blue Devils. She further enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and going to the cottage on the river. Bobbie’s faith and church were very important to her and she loved reading her devotional, “The Upper Room.” Most importantly, Bobbie’s family, especially her grandchildren, was her greatest joy. She was the “glue that held her family together.” Bobbie was a member of the Stephenson United Methodist Church.
