Muriel Joan (Beyer) Gilbert, 85, of Menominee, Mich., passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, Wis. She was born in Menominee, Mich on May 27, 1933, to the late Charles and Frances (Girard) Beyer.
     Muriel graduated from Menominee High School class of 1951. She was a member of Resurrection Parish in Menominee. Muriel moved her family to Mundelein, Ill., in 1963 where she resided for 40 years. She retired in 2000 and moved back to her hometown. Muriel’s career was in quality control for Monogram/Revell for most of her working career. Muriel loved her flowers, watching her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews sports events, playing bingo and going on casino trips. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Packers and following the Brewers. She was a loving and proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all.
    Muriel is survived by her daughter, Susan (Timothy) Torgersen, and her son, Dean Gilbert, both of Menominee; three grandchildren: Lee, Christina and Jason McKenzie; four great-grandchildren: Taylor, Tanner, Alexander and Aaron; one sister, Frances Wilke of Marinette, Wis; and other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Muriel was preceded in death by three sisters: Antoinette, Shirley and Kathleen; and one brother, Gordon Beyer.
    Visitation will take place at the Cadieu Funeral Home on Friday, April 12, 2019, from 9 a.m. until parish prayers at 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for the repose of the soul of Muriel Joan (Beyer) Gilbert at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Parish, with Fr. Brian Gerber presiding.  
    Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
