Michael John Schneider, 79, went home to his lord on Oct. 1, 2019. He was born on Dec. 8, 1939, to the late Benedict and Marjorie (Peterson) Schneider.
     Mike graduated from Menominee High School in 1958. On Aug. 20, 1960, he married the love of his life, Linda Spangenberg. After his marriage to Linda, he served in the National Guard and was stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington State. Upon completing his tour in the guards, he went to work at the L.E. Jones Company for 43 years where he was active in the union serving as union steward, then vice president and secretary for the UAW retirees, After retiring from L.E. Jones, he went to work for Holy Redeemer Parish as the maintenance/custodian for five years where he also ushered for many years. Mike was an avid hunter and trout fisherman, spending time at the camp in Banat with his family while enjoying the different seasons was one of his favorite things to do. He further enjoyed working in his shop making wooden trinkets for his children and grandchildren.
    Mike is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Linda; daughters: Deborah (Christopher) Millard, Michelle Boucher, Christine Schneider and Doreen (Steve) Briar; and his son, Bradley (Amanda) Schneider. He is further survived by his canine daughters: Lacee and Missy; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Ronald (Suzie) Schneider. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his in-laws: Julius and Alvera Spangenberg.
    Visitation will take place at Holy Redeemer Parish in Birch Creek on Monday, Oct. 7, 2019, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, for the repose of the soul of Michael John Schneider at 11 a.m., with Fr. Joseph Vandannoor presiding.
    Burial will be in the Menominee Township Cemetery.
    The Cadieu Funeral Home is assisting the family.
