Lorraine R. Gusick, 90, Pound, Wis., passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay. She was born April 2, 1928, in Pound to Fred and Ruth (Krause) Tachick.
   Lorraine resided in the Pound area most of her life except for a few years spent in Iron Mountain, Mich.
She attended the White Potato Lake School through the 8th grade and graduated from Coleman High School. Lorraine married Donald J. Gusick on Sept. 30, 1950. They operated a dairy farm for a few years before owning a mink ranch. In 1967, Donald and Lorraine opened the Ace Hardware Store in Pound and built a new store facility in 1989. Lorraine worked alongside Don in operating the store and continued until just the last few weeks. She was a member of Section Eight Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the church choir. Lorraine loved fishing and the time spent at her son Mitch’s fishing and hunting resort in Canada. In summer she loved to grow and have beautiful flowers and always looked forward to picking blueberries. Lorraine and Don traveled frequently, making trips to Mexico, where Lorraine caught a sailfish, and made several vacation trips to Alaska.
    Lorraine is survived by her husband, Donald; two sons: Mitch (Sharon) Gusick of Canada and Jeff Gusick of Pound; and numerous cousins.
    Friends may call at Section Eight Baptist Church in Pound on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Pastor Kevin Holland will officiate.
    Burial will be in First Baptist Cemetery in Pound.
