Lawrence Walter Godlewski Sr., 65, of Menominee, Mich., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019, in De Pere, Wis. He was born in Menominee on March 12, 1954, to the late Walter and Mary Ann (Lewandowski) Godlewski.
   Larry graduated from Menominee High School class of 1972. He was a member of Resurrection Parish in Menominee. He worked for the City of Menominee, starting in the street department and later was an assistant engineer. Larry left the city and was the owner/operator of P&L Trucking and Wild Rice Transportation. He later worked part-time driving the senior citizen bus at the Menominee Senior Center and was a clerk at Krist Oil. Larry enjoyed hunting and woodworking. He liked to tinker with different things but mostly with his vast collection of cars.
    Larry is survived by his daughter, Caitlin (Ken) Godlewski-Haberland, and her mother, Peggy (Richard) Smith; his son, Lawrence (Marcy) Godlewski Jr., and his mother, Christine Crevcoure; one sister, Jeannette (Bruce) Groulx; one brother, George (Jan) Godlewski; two grandchildren: Logan and Chloe; his canine buddy, “Dolly,” his feline friend “Tigger,” and other family members and friends.
    Visitation will take place at the Cadieu Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. The Vigil prayer service will begin at 6 p.m., with Deacon Chuck Gervasio presiding.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for the repose of the soul of Lawrence Walter Godlewski Sr. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019, at 11 a.m., at Resurrection Parish, with Fr. Brian Gerber presiding.
    Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Larry’s name. The family is asking that any expressions of sympathy and kindness be directed to the Menominee Animal Shelter.  
    The Cadieu Funeral Home is assisting the family.
