Joyce C. Miller, 90, of Menominee, Mich., passed away Nov. 26, 2019. She was born June 26, 1929, in
Chicago, Ill., to the late Evan and Della (Sandstrom) Stelter.
   Joyce graduated from William Taft High School in Chicago. Following high school, Joyce attended Carroll College in Waukesha, Wis., where she met Richard Miller. On June 24, 1950, she married Richard in Chicago. Following a move to Pittsburgh, Penn., for Richard’s work, Joyce and Richard moved back to the Chicago area where Richard joined her father as a partner in an office supply business. In 1968, they moved to Richard’s native Menominee where they were able to purchase a local office products business. Shortly thereafter, they changed the name of the company to Miller’s Action Office Supply. For over two decades, Joyce served as the business’s bookkeeper and co-owner, and also worked in the store. Along with her husband, Joyce was an active member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She enjoyed many pastimes including bowling, fishing, snowmobiling and golf where she was a member of North Shore Golf Club. Joyce and Richard were also members of the Owls Club card playing group and members of the North Star Square Dance Club and the affiliated Starlite Camping Club where they developed many close and lifelong friendships.
    Joyce and Richard also enjoyed traveling to many exciting and picturesque destinations on their own, with friends, or as part of Richard’s World War II ship reunions. They visited Europe and made multiple trips to Hawaii and Las Vegas. Joyce particularly enjoyed seeing a number of locations on cruises ships. Joyce also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren attending their school and sporting events and particularly enjoyed getting together with family at their home on the bay and spending the holidays with them.
    Joyce is survived by three sons: Jeff (Lisa) of Marinette, Scott (Joy) of Menominee, and Paul (Faith) of Abrams; seven grandchildren: Sierra (Miller) Steuerwald, Kirk, Jackson, Scott Jr., Tony, Morgan and Taylor Miller, and five great-grandchildren: Mylen, Wesley, Jubilee, Aly  and Evangeline. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Richard.
    Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home, Marinette, Sunday, Dec. 1, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., with a memorial service at the funeral home at 5 p.m. followed by a meal.
    Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
