Joseph Narcisse La Plante, 90, of Menominee, Mich., passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Rennes Health and Rehab Center, West. He was born in Marinette, Wis., on May 17, 1928 to the late Joseph and Eva (Forgette) La Plante. 
Joe graduated from Marinette High School. He proudly served his country honorably in the Navy/Air Corps during WWII. Joe married the former Nathalie Russell on June 29, 1974, in Menominee. She preceded him in death on June 16, 2018. Joe worked at Menominee Paper Company for over 40 years, retiring as a tow motor driver in 1990. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, the Elk’s Club, and the American Legion Post 146. Joe enjoyed bowling, golfing, cards and working in his yard. Joe was also a big fan of Menominee Legion Baseball, Maroon Football, the Packers and the Brewers.
Joe is survived by many loving nieces and nephews including: Mary Ann (Jerry) Borths and their family, Barbara Barker and her family, Donna Johnson and her family, Mike (Shelly) Grenier and his family, Diane Keller, Chris (Carl) Hofer, Heidi (Mike) Wozniak, Merle (Jane) Russell, grandnieces and nephews: Tadd (Tia) Russell and their children Taylor and Tayton, Trevor Russell and his daughter Finley, Troy (Syndy) Russell and their children Angelly and Gabriella, Jamie (Marisa) Wozniak and their children Kyle and Cameron, and Justin (Kim) Wozniak and their children Braden and Masen; his sister-in-law, Lois Russell and other family members and friends. In addition to his parents and his wife Nathalie, Joseph was preceded in death by his sister, Edna Mae (Joe) Grenier; his nephews: Brett Dessart, Dan Barker and Bill Johnson; sister, Margie Jean; brother, Lloyd David; brother-in-law, Glenn Russell; and sister-in-law, Joyce (Ben) Keller.
Family will receive friends at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Tuesday May 14, 2019 from 2 p.m. until time of Funeral Service at 4 p.m. with Pastor Mark Laatsch officiating. 
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Military Honors presented by the Military 20 year Club. Cadieu Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
