Gary Melvin Jessel, 74, Marinette, Wis., was called home on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Wis., surrounded by his loving family. Gary was born to Melvin Jessel and Betty Larson on Feb. 5, 1945.
    Gary grew up in Marinette, Wis., until he went to serve his country in the military. When he returned from service he lived in Florida for some time and then returned to Marinette. Along with his service, Gary worked as a building contractor, as he had a special talent for designing blueprints. He also loved to cook and spend time with his friends and family. Gary is remembered as a very generous, thoughtful and cheerful person.
    Gary is survived by a brother, Wayne (Mary) Jessel; eight children: Gary Joe, Cheryl, Melissa, Roger, Joshua, Nicole, Kristina and Alisha. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his parents and a loving sister, Tanna.
    Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 9, from 1 to 2 p.m., at Hanson Onion Martell Funeral Home, Marinette, followed by the service and military honor ceremony, also at the funeral home.
