Frances L. Bretl, 90, of Menominee, Mich., passed away on Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, at Atrium Post Acute Care of Menominee. The former Frances Laudica Stauber was born on Dec. 23, 1928, in Huntsville, Tenn., to the late Edward and Agnes (Sharpe) Stauber.
    Fran graduated from Menominee High School, and later she and her daughter Claudia, together attended and received their  LPN from Bay De Noc School of Nursing. On May 26, 1951, Frances married Robert Bretl. He preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1983. Frances was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, painting and crafting.
    Survivors include her daughters: Roberta Bretl and Claudia (Art) Landenberger; three grandchildren: Lily (fiancé Kole) Bretl, Missy (Eric) Mikus and Andy (Kyle) Landenberger; a great-granddaughter, Kingsley; and brother, Edward (Mary Ann) Stauber. Frances was preceded in death by her sister, Helen.
    Visitation will take place at Cadieu Funeral Home on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, from 2 p.m. until the time of the Vigil Prayer Service at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for the repose of the soul of Frances Bretl at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, at Resurrection Catholic Church, with Father Brian Gerber presiding. A luncheon will follow the mass.
    Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in the spring.
