Elizabeth (Liz) Ann (Whitford) Scholtz passed away on Oct. 25, 2019, at home with her husband, Gary Scholtz Sr., and sister-in-law, Linda Scholtz providing loving care. Liz, as she preferred to be called, was born on July 18, 1953, in Marinette, Wis., to Jim and Alice Whitford, who preceded her in passing.
  Liz was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 146 Menominee, and Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Marinette. Liz enjoyed bicycling, being outdoors, and attending performances at Theater on the Bay. Most of all she loved being a grandmother to her grandchildren.
    Liz is survived by her son, William James (BJ) Cavill (Kristin), and granddaughters: Emalee and Eva; her daughter, Ann Elizabeth Stapleford (Justin), and grandchildren: Justin, Anthony, William, Ethan and Eliza. She is also survived by sisters: Bonnie (Tom) Welsh, and nieces: Amanda and Jessica; and Carolyn (Jeff) Crick, and nieces: Mackenzie, Alyssa, and Caitlin.
    Private services for immediate family will take place at Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, with graveside services to follow. A remembrance for Liz will take place for family and friends at Cusack’s Irish Pub in Marinette, beginning at noon on Saturday, Nov. 9.
