Dorothy S. Zoellner, 95, of Marinette, passed away peacefully in the company of her family on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at the Luther Home. She was born June 13, 1922 in Waupaca, Wis. to Wallace Weisenborn and Pearl (Rasmussen) Weisenborn.

Dorothy moved to Marinette with her family at a young age, residing here since. She was a graduate of Marinette High School, Class of 1940. In her early years she worked at the former Boreal Mfg. Co. in Marinette. On May 14, 1945, she married Leonard G. Zoellner in St. James Lutheran Church.
Dorothy also attended the Marinette Vocational School and was employed as a bookkeeper at Luther Home, from which she retired. She was a longtime member of St. James Lutheran Church where she was active in the Woman’s Circle for several years.

Her family always came first and throughout her life she enjoyed having time with children, reading and listening to music. For several years she and Leonard were members of a square dance club.

She is survived by two daughters: Linda (Mike) Combes of Marinette and Debbie (Jerry) Menacher of Menominee; three grandchildren: Holly (Dana) Thede of DePere, Brian (Erin) Menacher of Oconto and Beth (Josh) Eggleston of Saginaw, Mich.; a great-granddaughter, Lindsey Thede; two brothers: Wallace (Shirley) Weisenborn and James Weisenborn; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; sisters-in-law: Charlotte (Robert) Malmberg and Marge (Jim) Weisenborn; and a nephew.
Friends may call at Luther Home Chapel in Marinette after 11 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday in the chapel. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.

The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to all of the caregivers and staff for providing such exceptional and compassionate care to Dorothy while she was living at Luther Home. We are also appreciative of the kindness and consideration given to family during this time.
