Donald J. DuPont, 73, of Carney, Mich., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at his home.  Don was born on May 24, 1945, in Stephenson, Mich., to the late Louis and Betty (Tharp) DuPont.  
     Don proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  On May 26, 1973, Don married the former Linda Bretl in Menominee, Mich. Don worked as a logger, diesel mechanic for Linder Implement, and was currently working for Superior Cedar Products. An avid outdoorsman, Don enjoyed going to camp, hunting and fishing. He further enjoyed a round of golf and bowling. Above all else, time with his wife, children and grandchildren is what Don enjoyed most. Don served his community on the Nadeau Township Fire Department, where he served as chief, and was a past commander and member of the Carney Nadeau American Legion Post 47.
    Survivors include his wife, Linda of Carney; three children: Jim (Molly) DuPont of Greenville, Wis., Jason (Kelli) DuPont of Carney, and Jennifer (Kevin) Allsworth of Rapid River, Mich.; 10 grandchildren: Jason Jr., Morgan, Hunter, Gracie, Jackson, Rylee, Kennedy, Megan, Chloe and Lucy; five sisters: Joyce Krueger, Beverly McClellan, Linda Robinson, Arlene DuPont and Kathy DuPont; two brothers:  Robert DuPont and Mark DuPont; and numerous nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by three sisters: Gloria and Betty Jane DuPont and Janice Santos; and brother, Louis DuPont Jr.
    Family will receive friends at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, after 4 p.m. until time of Military Rites at 7 p.m. followed by a prayer service. Visitation will continue on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at St. Bruno Catholic Church from 9 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., with Father Jacek Wtyklo officiating.  
    Burial will follow in Nadeau Township Cemetery.
