With or hearts full of love and sadness, we announce the passing of Cindy Drust, who was taken away from us too soon on June 3, 2019, at Aurora Hospital in Green Bay. Cindy was born June 25, 1952, in Eau Claire, Wis.
Cindy loved spending time with her family and always insisted on doing the cooking at family gatherings during the holidays. Holidays won’t be the same without Mom’s famous potato salad and one of a kind Chex mix. At Christmas everyone always got a two-gallon Ziploc bag full! Besides cooking and baking, Cindy loved watching the Packers, trout fishing, camping, and listening to music, especially Def Leppard. Cindy graduated from Marinette Catholic Central Class of 1970. With her great personality and beauty, she did some modeling for Merlain’s Fashions and won several local and state pageants including Wisconsin Snow Queen 1973. Cindy never forgot anyone she met. We couldn’t go anywhere in the country without running into someone that she recognized. Cindy worked as a dental assistant, chiropractic assistant and in Angeli’s deli, but her family always came first.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Joe; their children: Christy Drust and Carrie (Chad) Slawik of Menominee, Mich., and Joe (Katie) Drust Jr. of Howard, Wis.; grandchildren: Taylor Drust, Tristin and Treyton Nerat, and Adam Slawik of Menominee, Denalyn Urcavich, Emma, Audrey and Addison Drust of Howard; great-granddaughter, Isabelle Hubbard of Menominee: mother, Margaret (Mitzi) Betzinger of Marinette; sister, Lindy (Eric) Corroy of Dyckesville, Wis. She was preceded in death by her father, James Betzinger; grandparents: Arthur and Gretchen Homa, and Alex and Josephine Betzinger; and grandson, Jackson Drust.
We will be having a gathering to celebrate Cindy on June 29 at our home. We will have lots and lots of food, just as Cindy would want! (with leftovers for days!) Everyone is welcome to join us sharing stories and happy memories. For further information, please call 906-863-8062.
The Cadieu Funeral Home is assisting the family.
