Bonita “Bonnie” Paulsen, 79, of Menominee, Mich., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019, at Rennes Health and Rehab Center, East. The former Bonita Katherine Shehow was born on July 29, 1939, in Green Bay, Wis., to the late Albert and Gertrude (Konyn) Shehow.  
     On May 13, 1961, Bonnie married Kenneth Paulsen in Marinette, Wis. Bonnie touched the life of many people through her work and volunteer activities. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school as a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Bonnie was employed by Lauerman Brothers Department Store, Thyberg Jewelers and Crestview Adult Foster Care Home. She volunteered at the BAMC coffee bar, Menominee Historical Society Museum and further enjoyed the Red Hatters and bowling. Bonnie was very involved in the planning of her Marinette High School Class of 1958 and Lauerman reunions. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and many friends.
    Survivors include her husband, Kenneth of Menominee; son, Brad (Sue) Paulsen of Menominee; and daughter, Sue (David Dirksmeyer) Paulsen of Franklin, Wis.; five grandchildren: Katie Paulsen, Bennett Dirksmeyer, Annalise Dirksmeyer, Cory Loomis and Jason Loomis; siblings:  Gerald Shehow of Menominee, Dorrie (Raymond) Swacker of Abbottsford, Wis., Peggy Shehow of Marinette, David (Kolleen) Shehow of Marinette and Bruce Shehow of Marinette; sister-in-law, Kathy Shehow of Porterfield, Wis., and Yvonne Groleau of Menominee.  Bonnie was preceded in death by three brothers: Steven, Scott and Randy Shehow; and two sisters: Janet Hanson and Sissy Shehow.
    Family will receive friends at Anderson Kell Funeral Home on Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, after 4 p.m. until time of funeral service at 6 p.m., with Pastor Mark Laatsch officiating.  
    Burial will be in Birch Creek Cemetery in the spring.
