Barbara (Hoffman) Bergstrom, 72, of Menominee, Mich., passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019, after a courageous 15 month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Barbara was born on Aug. 27, 1947, in Racine, Wis., to Richard and Doris (Michna) Hoffman.  She was a 1965 graduate of Washington Park High School.  After high school, she worked in various positions in Racine until meeting her future husband Jerry at the Brat Stop while he was stationed in Kenosha, Wis. with the US Coast Guard. Barb and Jerry married on March 1, 1969, in Racine and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Barb was proud to obtain her private pilot license in 1989 alongside her husband. Together they enjoyed many years of flying friends and family in their airplane. Some of their favorite trips included Egg Harbor for ice cream, Shawano for a burger, Racine to visit family or various other destinations for vacation.  She also enjoyed driving her own motorcycle and went on countless day trips around the area with friends.  Barb was a fantastic gardener and was proud of her beautiful flower gardens which always bloomed from spring through fall. Barb and Jerry loved spending time at their camp, fishing and four wheeling near the Menominee River. They further enjoyed traveling the country visiting national parks, but her favorite vacation was to Hawaii.  Barb was a stay-at-home mother while her kids were young then held various jobs until her retirement at the age of 55.  Her real joy was babysitting her grandchildren and attending many of their school and sporting events. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.
Barb is survived by her husband, Jerry; daughters:  Kathy (Rob) Possley and Lynn (Chris Darga) Buscher; son, David (Stephanie) Bergstrom; grandchildren:  Brett, Ryan, Dakota, Cameron, Conner, Cortney, Keegan, Kiefer, Kiana and Koty; sister-in-law, Diane Bergstrom; brothers:  Rick (Christine), David and Timothy Hoffman; sister, Becky Ramirez; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Sandra Heintz and Janet Wills; and her brother-in-law, Thomas Bergstrom.
