Alex J. Dudka, 88, of Peshtigo, Wis., died Jan. 4, 2019, at Rennes Health Center East. Born July 19, 1930, son of the late Martin and Rose (Swiake) Dudka, he served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War.
     Alex married the former Marilyn Schwartz on May 21, 1955, at St. Mary Church in Crivitz. Marilyn preceded him in death on Nov. 19, 2012. He retired from Badger Paper Mill where he worked as electrical and instrumentation tech. As an avid outdoorsman, Al loved hunting and fishing, gardening, wood working,  bowling and socializing with his neighbors. He was well known locally for playing softball until the age of 80 and horseshoes until the age of 85. He especially enjoyed sharing time with his grandchildren.
    Alex is survived by four sons: Dan aka ‘’Dudley” Dudka, Tim (fiance, Chris) Dudka, Dale (Sheila) Dudka, Dean (Dawn) Dudka; two daughters: Brenda (Pete) Wergedal and Jo Ann (Steve) Rott; grandchildren: Matthew, Michael, Jamie, Alyssa, Austin, Andrew, Ashley, Allison, Sierra and Philip; and one sister-in-law, Carol Schwartz Kobus. Along with his wife, Alex was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
    Visitation will be held on Monday, Jan. 7 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Peshtigo from 3 p.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 6 p.m., with Father Jess Berdol officiating. Military Honors will follow at the church.
