With most events and festivals canceled this summer, City of Marinette streets are lined with the familiar, brightly-painted flower pots with walleye decorations that are part of two projects spearheaded by the Marinette and Menominee Chamber of Commerce’s Downtown Marinette Action Group (DMAG). The flower pots and metal walleye that grace the medians in Marinette, were funded by the City of Marinette, The Chamber of Commerce, and donations from many private businesses and citizens. This is one summer tradition that will carry on as usual. The Downtown Marinette Action Group, a committee of the Chamber of Commerce, spearheaded this year’s effort to wash, re-paint and plant flowers in 31 different pots. The City of Marinette placed all of the pots in their summer “homes,” available through Marinette, including Hall and Marinette avenues.
