Marinette and Menominee experienced a power outage Thursday morning.

The power outage was caused by a car versus utility pole accident which occurred at 10th Avenue and 18th Street in Menominee, according to Matt Cullen, Wisconsin Public Service spokesperson. He said WPS arrived at the scene around 6 a.m. The utility pole was damaged and was replaced.

The power outage affected approximately 3,100 WPS costumers in the two cities. Cullen stated that a WPS crew was able to “isolate the damage to the facilities and re-route power around it to restore nearly all of the affected customers shortly after 7 a.m.”

The remaining costumers had power restored by 10:20 a.m.
