SPORTS WRITER

EagleHerald is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and

versatile sports writer to join our news team.

The Marinette Menominee EagleHerald, a six-day a week morning paper, has an opening for a full-time sports reporter. The reporter will mostly cover preps and community sports. The ideal candidate will be energetic, enthusiastic and versatile.

Strong candidates will possess excellent writing and page layout skills. The ability to work under deadline pressure is a must. Some photography also is required. Knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop are helpful. A bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field and/or sports reporting experience is helpful. The candidate will be equally adept at covering a sporting event, compiling sports agate and taking a call from a coach and writing up a game summary. The candidate will work closely with the sports editor - they both will cover games, take phone calls and design pages on most nights.

The Marinette Menominee EagleHerald is located about 50 miles north of Green Bay on the Wisconsin-Michigan border. The paper takes pride in its coverage of local news and sports.Because we are a morning paper, night hours are a regular part of the job. Numerous weekends are also required.
