Softball tournament to be held

CRIVITZ — The annual Ice Softball Tournament will be held on Lake Noquebay at the Timerberline Resort-Campgrounds Feb. 1. Play starts at 10 a.m. Teams are coed. Entry fee is $100, games will be five innings and there will be cash prizes and paddle raffles. Proceeds from the tournament will go to the St. Vincent de Paul conference of St. Agnes, St. Augustine and St. Mary.

Players to hold annual meeting

OCONTO — The 2020 Machickanee Players Annual Meeting will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Park Avenue Playhouse, 408 Park Ave., The public is welcome and encouraged to attend, and anyone who has ever been involved in one of its productions is considered to be a Machickanee Player Member with voting rights for the elections held during this meeting.

On the agenda is the approval of the 2020 budget, a look ahead at upcoming productions, and the election of board members and board officers. There will be food and refreshments at 1, followed by the annual meeting at 2.

Artwork to be on display at library

MENOMINEE — Original artworks by area students and artists at the Madishka Art Studios are on display at Spies Public Library in Menominee. All works are on canvas paintings and subject matter ranges from landscape and animal to still life and people. 

On display are more than 40 paintings in all, from artists: Cheryl Peterson, Mike Tanquay and instructor Kim Barecewski and students: Jeanette Lawton, Paula Ostrenga, Jim Shane and Liz Erickson.

There will be an artist’s reception Feb. 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the library.

Grief support group offered

PESHTIGO — The GriefShare support group will meet Feb. 3 at Faith Church, 350 N. Stephenson Ave., from 1 to 3 p.m. in the church's study.

GriefShare is open to anyone seeking grief support. It consists of 13 sessions, but each is designed to be “stand-alone” so that anyone can join the group at any time.

Legion Post to hold Christmas party

AMBERG — The Amberg American Legion Christmas Party will be Jan. 26 at Melissa’s Amberg Café, 15087 Dutton Road, at 4 p.m. A family-style dinner of chicken and ribs will be served at 5.
