Rec department to hold coloring contest

MENOMINEE — The Menominee Recreation Department will hold a Happy Holidays coloring contest. The contest is open for boys and girls in grades kindergarten through fourth. The coloring page may be printed off the recreation’s website, parksandrec8.wix.com/menomineerecreation. Entries will be judged according to grade level. Coloring pages may be submitted by mail or dropped off to the Recreation Department by Dec. 23 before 4 p.m.

Library to host annual cookie walk

WAUSAUKEE — Mid-County Library, 604 Harrison Ave., will hold its annual Cookie Walk Dec. 7 from 8 a.m. to noon. The public is invited to attend.

Homemade cookies and candies, donated by more than 100 library patrons and members of the Friends of the Library, will be available for purchase by the pound. A selection of special dietary cookies will be available. Carryout containers will be provided.

Santa to appear at Legion Post

MENOMINEE — Santa will be at the Legion Post, 818 1st St., Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. There will also be hot chocolate and cookies. All are welcome to attend this event. 

Machickanee Players receive grant

OCONTO — The Machickanee Players recently received a grant from the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation in the amount of $2,500. This grant will be used to continue the renovations on the Park Avenue Playhouse.

The money will be used to raise the foundation under that the theatre’s south wing. In addition to these funds, the Players have also received a donation of paint from the City of Oconto ‘Rock the Block’ program and the Fuller Center for Housing (Tom Tebow) in Marinette and the Oconto Fire Department assisted in the building’s facelift by power washing the hall to prepare it for new paint.
