GFWC member receives 'Diamond Award'

MENOMINEE — General Federation of Women's Club (GFWC) Menominee Clubwoman, Lorraine Long of Menominee achieved the goal of documenting and reading 1,000 books and was presented the Diamond Award certificate and an Epsilon Sigma Omicron (ESO) pin. 

ESO is an honorary educational society open to all GFWC members. More than 60 years ago, the ESO program became a permanent part of the GFWC Education Department. Through ESO, clubwomen are given direction in planned reading for self-enrichment and personal growth. To receive the Diamond Award, an ESO member must read 1,000 books.

Legion post to hold trick or treating hours

HERMANSVILLE — The Floriano-Stecker-Kelly American Legion Post 340 will hold trick or treating hours from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday at the American Legion building. Ted Gurgall, Dennis Trudell and Terry Trudell and his wife will pass out candy.
