County library to host Halloween party

STEPHENSON — The Friends of the Menominee County Library and the library staff will host a family Halloween Party Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There will be games for all ages, including "Monster Toss," "Bowling for Creatures" and "Spider Web." Other activities, crafts and a story time are also on the slate for the day. Attending children will receive a Halloween bag that they can decorate and fill with treats during the party. A hot dog lunch will be provided or people may bring a lunch.

Project Give members will bring their Yellow Shirt Movement to the Halloween party. Children can make a T-shirt and pledge to: "Raise Your Hand. Take a Stand. End Bullying."

It is not necessary to sign up in advance, but people may call the library at 906-753-6923 or email the Friends of the Menominee County Library at for planning purposes.

City to hold free Halloween fun

MENOMINEE — The Recreation Department of the City of Menominee has invited members of the community to Spies Public Library Saturday for treats, books and prizes from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Children are encouraged to dress up in costume. 

Twin City Squares offer dance

MARINETTE — The Twin City Squares will hold a dance on their winter schedule at Merryman School, 611 Elizabeth Ave., Sunday from 2 to 4:30 p.m. The caller will be Amanda Herdt. The supper is a German fest. The lunch committee will provide dessert.

There will be a mainstream square dance workshop from 1 to 2 before the dance.

NWTC-Marinette to hold open house

MARINETTE — The completely renovated NWTC-Marinette, 1601 University Drive, will host an open house Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. Attendees will tour the newly renovated labs, classrooms and explore career options.
