Alzheimer's support group to meet

PESHTIGO/MENOMINEE — The Care & Share Alzheimer's Support Group is gathering for caregivers of loved ones with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. The group offers an opportunity for caregivers to share experiences, discuss concerns and learn about available resources in the area. There are two locations, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The group meets every Wednesday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. at Faith Church, 350 N Stephenson Ave., Peshtigo; the afternoon group meets Wednesday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 2901 13 St., Menominee.

LaFave to hold office hours

MENOMINEE — State Rep. Beau LaFave of Iron Mountain announced his September office hours for residents of Menominee County. He will be at Spies Public Library, 940 1st St., Friday from 11 to noon.

"Being accessible is an imperative part of my job," LaFave said. "Over the past two and a half years, I have held numerous office hours and I look forward to holding many more."

Bag tournament to be held

CRIVITZ — The Marinette County Canine Partners will hold a bag tournament Saturday at W6325 Circle Drive. Check-in time is 9 a.m. with the tournament starting at 10 following a K9 demonstration. Food and beverage packages will be served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with bucket, 50/50 and impulse raffles happening all day. The cost to enter is $50 per team, which includes the food and beverage package.

MDBA to serve brats for breakfast

MENOMINEE — The Menominee Downtown Business Association will serve brats for breakfast at the Menominee Marina Boaters Lounge Thursday from 6 to 10 a.m. 

Delivery is available from 6:30 to 10 for orders of 20 or more within Menominee and Marinette city limits. People may email pre-orders until Wednesday at 6 p.m. to or fax 906-863-7302. The suggested donation is $3 for one brat or two brats for $5.

Proceeds are used to help fund the annual Downtown Parade and Holiday Open House, free carriage rides and tree lighting ceremony (which is Nov. 22-24) and many other activities that take place in Menominee's Historic Downtown.
